Invisalign aligners are thin, clear plastic aligners that the the patient wears and changes weekly. Each one of these aligners is a slightly different shape to the patients teeth which encourage the teeth to gently and predictably move. The advantages of Invisalign as compared to other orthodontic treatments are that they are practically invisible, can be removed for eating, drinking and most importantly cleaning and are far more comfortable than traditional braces. Whatsmore at the beginning of your Invisalign treatment your dentist will be able to provide you with a 3D, digital mock up of what your teeth should look like at the end of treatment.

  • This varies from patient to patient. In shorter cases it may only take 4-6 months, in longer cases it may take around 1 year.

  • No, when you first put the aligners in they will feel tight however this sensation will pass after the first day or two.

  • Patient should wear the aligners for at least 22 hours a day, ideally only taking them out to eat and drink.

  • Yes, because the aligners are removable you can clean your teeth as normal.

  • Yes, at the end of your Invisalign treatment you will be required to wear removable retainers nightly.

  • At a consultation with one of our dentists they will assess your bite and smile to find out if you are suitable for Invisalign.
