NEW PATIENTS

At Strathbungo Dental we are always delighted to welcome new patients to our clinic.

At your first visit you will receive a warm welcome from our reception team who will provide you with a medical questionnaire to complete.

After completing this you will be taken through to one of our surgeries where the dentist will take a thorough dental history from you to discuss any issues you have been having, in addition to discussing any dental anxieties you might have.

An extensive clinical assessment will be completed, usually including dental radiographs, and your clinician will then discuss any findings fully and discuss any treatment that is required. If further appointments are needed we will provide you with a comprehensive estimate detailing what is to be completed at each visit, in addition to any fees that will be due.

Throughout this process we are always keen to answer any questions you might have as we firmly believe that engaging with our patients is key to delivering an excellent standard of dental care. 

At the end of your appointment our dentist will also review with you which style of membership you wish to take out with the practice which can be either a Denplan membership, or pay as you go membership.

  • The length of time for this appointment varies substantially based on the patient. We allocate 45 minutes to these appointments however if the patient has no dental health concerns and requires no treatment then it may only take 20. However we believe in allocating a larger slot so that if a patient has a greater treatment need, our clinicians are able to fully discuss their dental condition and treatment without any unhelpful time pressures.

  • No. At Strathbungo Dental we are very aware that many of our patients may have had bad experiences with dentists in the past and have long standing dental phobias. As such at your first visit we will discuss any anxieties with you and ensure we explain each part of the examination fully to ensure that you are kept comfortable at all times.
